GRAPHIC DESIGN AND THE ENVIRONMENT

So where does the environment come in? Graphic designers have a obligation to think about the environment when working. We are at the root of the piece being produced and usually have vast input about how that work will be mass multiplied. Thereby, designers should commit to using Forest Stewardship Council certified stocks (“paper”) & printing companies; relying on renewable & carbon neutral energy to power their electronics & web sites (such as this site); and only printing when absolutely necessary. Please try to reduce, re-use, and recycle–with an emphasis on the first two–simply because good planets are hard to find.
